Since I first learned about BurningMan several years ago, I knew that one day I would make this journey. Each year I dreamt that this would be the year and each year this door would eventually close due to work commitments or financial challenges preventing me from joining...

This year, the stars have aligned and I’m excited to announce that from 21st August - 2nd September 2019, I plan to build a 13ft tiny dome structure with an interactive LED art installation at BurningMan 2019.

I coined the secret project ‘WonderDome’ - A morphing dome structure that travels around the world, stimulating the creative mind through engaging interactive art and design experiences. Part of a support system connecting people with ideas to collaborators providing a portal to bridge the future with the present and create a new world.

In the future this space will morph into emergency shelter, greenhouse with vertical farm, kitchen, with bathroom and shower facilities.

In alignment with this years theme ‘Metamorphoses’ the WonderDome is a versatile, scalable, evolving dodecahedron structure which celebrates the marriage of 4 grassroots community driven social movements.. Hackathons, Makerfaires, TinyHouse minimalism and now the Burner artisan community at large.

At the intersection of the virtual / physical world, WonderDome provides a space for people to meditate, reflect inwards, explore their dreams through fun, collaborative, team building events, activities, group builds and workshops.

The TinyHackerHouse design challenge 4.0 is an experiential self discovery workshop exploring the changing needs of community. We connect impactful ideas to resources and currently preparing for BurningMan 2019 build.

This will be my first time participating in BurningMan and I hope to achieve a few core objectives on this mission:

1) Provide a low energy temperature controlled environment in the form of a dome structure, to keep Burners cool in the day and warm at night with interactive LEDs that react to music.

2) Test structure materials reaction in extreme weather conditions comprising of desert sand storms, wind, heat and cold climate.

3) Explore future camping experiences such as Yoga, Meditation, Performances for our future events.

4) Set the Guiness world record for fastest dome build time.

5) Host TinyHackerHouse design challenge 4.0 workshop.

6) Engage burners community: -

If you’re onsite during build week and with an hour or so to help with build.. looking for 4 volunteers.
