Reminiscing #SXSW #SXSWEDU #2017 exhibiting #TinyHackerHouse #Community #Design Challenge

For a project to be truly at the ‘Intersection of Everything’ (a term I find myself using often to describe this extensive project) it needs to interact with every diverse individual in their respective fields of expertise.

So at #SXSWEDU #2017 I set up an exhibitor booth with information, projects, events, workshops and activities I’d coordinated over the past 7 years. This opened a dialogue with kids, parents, educators and leaders around an interactive tinyhouse community design challenge to explore the process of how we can all unleash our creative ideas.

The goal was to raise awareness about Hackathons, Makerfaires and TinyHouse (Minimalism) movements to spark ideas and explore future technology projects to support the development of a physical live / work sustainable event space for our diverse network of creative DIY artisans.

I had so much fun learning about how people envision the future, 10 years from now will we all still be working 40 hours a week, (2 jobs in some cases) as slaves to the system, commuting 2 hours per day by car to pay a off the next installment on a 30 year mortgage and remain an owner?

or will we be global citizens, working remotely with access to global opportunities, where crowdsourcing our dreams, freelancing, entrepreneurship, startups joins us to this new revolution of digital nomadism.

Powered by distributed knowledge, skills and community shared resources will this become the dominant currency that advances humankind forward collectively?
